Peruvian White Rice
Basic (but so not #basic) white rice, Peruvian style!


1.5 coffee cupfuls of white rice (jasmine)
2 coffee cupfuls of water
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
1/2 teaspoon salt


Wash rice 2-3 times with water (use thin colander or just in a bowl). Be sure to drain all water out.

WITH A RICE COOKER (you lucky bastard):
Put all ingredients in rice cooker.
Mix well.
Turn on rice cooker

In a pot, heat the oil and fry the garlic without burning it (put the stove on medium heat, or 5 out of 10 heat setting). Then, add water and set stove a bit hotter (6 out of 10 heat setting). When it boils, add rice and salt. Cover and cook at low heat (3 of 10). When water is gone, set heat to (1 of 10).
