Sausage Cheese Balls
This was another one of those "Southern" foods we did not know about until we moved to North Carolina. These were served for breakfast with eggs, as an appetizer at parties, or anytime in-between. Seemed like everyone knew about them but us!
Ingredients
1 lb Hot Sausage (Jimmy Dean)10 oz Sharp Cheddar Cheese - grated
2 Cups Bisquick (or Jiffy Mix)
1/4 tsp+ Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Instructions
Mix together and roll into balls. Place on cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. If I don't have parchment paper I cut up a large brown paper grocery bag and line the pan with it. This step is optional but makes clean up easier as the sausage balls will often stick to the bottom of the pan.Bake at 375 degrees - 20- 35 mins or until brown. These will be crunchy.
Bake at 350 degrees - 25 - 30 mins or until brown for a softer sausage ball.
Makes 50 - 55 balls
Convection - 350 degrees 18 - 22 mins Clay Sheet - softer
