Icing - Butter Cream
This is the Butter Cream my mother made. It's still my favorite!
Ingredients
1 Lb Box Condectioners Sugar (3 3/4 - 4 Cups)1/2 Cup Butter - softened
3 - 4 Tablespoons Milk
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract*
*I use 1/2 tsp Vanilla & 1/2 tsp Almond Extract
Instructions
In a large bowl, with mixer at low speed, cream confectioners sugar & butter. Slowly milk add milk and extracts. Beat at medium speed 1 - 2 minutes until creamy. If necessary, add more milk until icing is at desired consistnecy. Makes enough to fill and frost 2-layer cake, 9"x13"x2" cake pan, or 24 cupcakes.From: Mom Rulli (using original recipe with all Vanilla from the Domino Confectioners Sugar box) (1957)
