MMMMMMM....Smothered Steak


4 beef or pork cube steak
5 Tablespoons unsalted Butter
4 Tablespoons Corn Starch
1/2 Teaspoon Paprika
2 Cups Chicken Broth
1/2 Small Onion
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
1/2 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
1 teaspoon Thyme
1/4 teaspoon Fresh Ground Pepper
Dash of Seasoning Salt


Put one steak at a time in a gallon size plastic bag. Pound each until thin. Dice the onion and sautee in the butter and brown the cube steaks. Season with lemon pepper, salt and garlic powder. Add 3 tablespoons of corn starch to the chicken broth and stir until disolved. Reserve 1/3 cup. Add 1 tablespoon of starch to remaining broth, stir until disolved. Put the broth in a medium pot and bring to a boil stirring until almost thickend. While stirring add the remaining stock a little at a time to the pot until desire thinkness is reached. Pour the now gravy into the cube steak skillet and add paprika and thyme. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until tender.
