Baked donuts
Ingredients
DONUT INGREDIENTS•2 cups flour
•3/4 cup sugar
•2 teaspoons baking powder
•1 teaspoon salt
•3/4 cup milk
•2 eggs, beaten
•1 teaspoon vanilla extract
•1 tablespoon shortening
CHOCOLATE GLAZE INGREDIENTS
•1/4 cup unsalted butter
•2 tablespoons milk
•1/2 tablespoon light corn syrup
•1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
•2 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped
•1 cups confectioners’ sugar
•Sprinkles
Instructions
1.Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees.2.In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
3.Add in eggs, vanilla, milk, and shortening and stir until all ingredients are incorporated.
4.Spray your donut pan lightly with cooking spray. Fill each cup about 3/4 of the way full.
5.Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until donuts are cooked completely.
6.Leave the donuts in the pan for a few minutes, then move them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
7.To make the glaze: Place the butter, milk, corn syrup, and vanilla in a large microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 1-2 minutes, until the butter is melted. Stir in chopped chocolate and continue stirring until it has completely melted. Whisk in powdered sugar and stir until you have a creamy, smooth glaze. If the glaze is starting to cool too fast, microwave the glaze for about 30 seconds.
8.Dip each donut into the warm glaze, top with sprinkles, and allow to set for about 30 minutes.
This recipe yields 12 donuts.
