Cherry Cake

Ingredients

1 1/2 C sugar
2 C sifted flour
1 can pitted sour cherries
1 C shortening
1/2 t. salt
4 eggs
2 t vanilla

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs unbeaten & beat
very well, at least 5 minutes or until thick. Add flour and
salt. Beat well. Pour very stiff batter into 9X13 pan.
Spread evenly. Place 1 can drained sour cherries in rows
on top of batter.

Bake in 350 degree oven - 15 minutes on lower rack and
then 25 minutes on upper rack.
