Asparagus With Lemon Broth

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted chicken broth
12-16 asparagus spears
veg oil as needed
1 shallot (minced)
1 tsp. sugar
1 clove garlic (minced)
juice of one lemon

Instructions

Wash asparagus and break off tough woody ends.
Heat sm amt. of oil over medium heat in sauté pan large enough for everything.
Add shallot and garlic and cook five mins.
Add chicken broth, lemon juice and sugar.
Stir to blend and drop asparagus in pan
Bring to boil, reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until asparagus are tender (8-10 mins)
remove asparagus to platter and pour the juice over it to serve.
