Baked Pear Butter
Ingredients
Pears6 cups sugar
3 Tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon allspice
1/2 teaspoon cloves
Instructions
Peel and core pears. Crush into large pot. Cook until soft. Press pulp through sieve.For 12 cups pear pulp add remaining ingredients.
Bake at 275 degrees for 8 to 10 hours, stirring every half hour.
At around 8 hours, remove a small portion of butter to cool. When it reaches a thick jam consistency, remove from oven and pack into sterilized jars. Put lids on tightly. Invert to seal.
