Pretzel M&M Hugs {Christmas Style}
My wonderful neighbor Debbie Deal included these in her annual Christmas cookie & chex mix extravaganza. Every year she brings over a basket, tin, or tray with a variety of tasty treats and small gifts (oven mitts, wine stoppers). These are so easy to make, colorful, and fun.
TIP: I break off the tip of the hug. It makes it easier to place the M&M's on top. Also, I do not exceed 25 pieces on the cookie sheet. Unless you are fast, the Hugs will firm up before you can place the M&M's.
Ingredients
70 square pretzels70 Hershey's Hugs chocolates (10.6 oz bag), unwrapped
70 Milk Chocolate M&M's - mini or regular size. I used the red and green Christmas package.
Instructions
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with a Silpat or parchment paper. (This is optional for easier clean-up. I often don't line the pan.)Align pretzels on cookie sheet in a single layer then top each pretzel with one Hershey's Hug chocolate.
Bake in preheated oven for 4 - 5 minutes, until the chocolate is shiny and soft (but NOT melting, the chocolates should still hold their shape).
Remove from oven and carefully place one M&M in the center of each soft Hug and press down on M&M to spread the chocolate.
Place in refrigerator and allow to rest until chocolate has set, about 5 minutes. Store in an airtight container.
