Agua de Horchata
Refreshing non-alcoholic beverage. Great for eating with tacos or Mexican food. -JAGS


For 2.15 Lts

1 cup of white un-cooked rice (don't use precooked rice)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 can of condensed milk (~390 gr)
1 can of evaporated milk (~378 gr)
1 branch of natural cinnamon (2.5 gr)
1/2 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
4 spoonfuls of sugar


1. Wash 1 cup of rice in a container with a filter
2. Filter the rice and move it to a bowl
3. Add your branch of cinnamon to bowl
4. Leave bowl under-water for 2 hours
5. Verify both cinnamon and rice are soft. If not, leave for more time
6. Transfer all the contents of the bowl to a blender and add: condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and sugar (in quantities stated above)
7. Blend until you have a homogeneous mixture
8. Filter the contents of the blender into your final container and add 2 Lts of water, and the half teaspoon of cinnamon powder (mix with a spoon)
9. Drink with lots of ice, and stay thirsty my friends
