Marg's APPLE DUMP CAKE
We had a neighbor call and request a apple dump cake recipe. Another listener called in with a dump cake we took on the show back in 1973 when Ask Your Neighbor was broadcast on WWJ. When Bob left WWJ they lost some of the recipes and our listener took very good notes! Thanks to that neighbor we have this "lost" apple dump cake to share with you today
Ingredients
In a large bowl dump in1 can sliced pie apples,
2 eggs,
2 c. sugar,
1/2 c. Mazola oil,
1 t. cinnamon,
2 c. unsifted flour,
1 t. salt,
2 t. baking soda,
1 t. vanilla and
1 c. chopped walnuts
Instructions
In a large bowl dump in ingredients above.
Stir together and pour batter into a greased and floured (9x13 inch) pan. Bake 325° for 1 hour or til ithe dump cake tests done with a toothpick inserted in the center. Cool and cut into squares. You can serve the apple cake with whipped cream or ice cream on the side (or...how about both?).
