Cloud Biscuits

Ingredients

2 cups sifted flour
1 tablespoon sugar
4 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup shortening
1 egg, beaten
2/3 cup milk

Instructions

Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Combine egg and milk; add to flour mixture all at once. Stir until dough follows the fork around the bowl.

Turn onto lightly floured surface; knead gently about 20 strokes.

Roll dough 3/4 inches thick. If desired, chill 1 to 3 hours.

Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 14 minutes.
