Pear Bread

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs

2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pears
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan.

Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine dry ingredients and add to cream mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in pears and vanilla. Pour into prepared pan.

Bake for 1 hour. Cool. Serve plain or with cream cheese.
