Apple Cinnamon Bread

Ingredients

1/2 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla
1-1/2 cup flour
1-1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup milk
1 large apple, peeled and chopped

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.

Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together and set aside.

Combine white sugar and butter and beat until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and beat on medium until combined. Add flour and baking powder, then milk. Blend until smooth, batter will be thick.

Place half of batter in prepared pan. Cover with half of chopped apples. Pat apples into batter and sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture. Pour remaining batter over apple layer; top with remaining apples and cinnamon mixture. Pat topping into batter with back of spoon.

Bake for 50 minutes until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing from pan.
