Aunt Lou's Chili Sauce *****
Aunt Lou gave me this recipe a long time ago. I love this recipe, especially with my Mom's salmon patties. Aunt Lou was married to my Mom's brother, Wendell Evans
Ingredients
1 basket rip tomatoes Chopped (Italian)3 Red mangoes chopped (Peppers)
3 green Mangoes chopped(peppers)
1 Onion chopped
1 Small bunch celery chopped
1 measuring cup vinegar
4 cups sugar
1 Small potatoe grated
1 small can Tomato Paste
Salt, cloves, cinnamon, allspice, and red pepper to taste.
You can use black pepper instead of red pepper
Instructions
Let vegetables come to a boil. Add seasonings and vinegar. When it cooks down to a quarter (nearly done) add a small grated potato. About 15 to 20 minutes before you bottle it, add a can of tomatoe paste for color and a little more seasoning. About 2 1/2 hoursMY NOTES
