Jan's Garden Green Bow Tie Salad *****
Jan makes this salad during the summer. It's a great salad to take down by the river "to watch boats"' As My Mom would say. Take along some bread sticks. Some sandwiches would go nicely. Great on camping trips as a side.
Found this recipe on box of Prince bowties. You cannot find their bowties in stores any longer. Once in a while I run into a different brand. You can use tiny shells instead.
Ingredients
1 package small bow tiesOr 1 package small shells.
1 medium sized green pepper chopped
1 Small onion chopped
1 Carrot chopped for color
or 6 small carrots chopped
3 stalks cellery chopped
1 small bunch raddishs chopped
1 can black olives sliced Optional(See note below)
1 Tbs. Summer Savory
1/2 cup Zesty Italian Salad Dressing (See note below)
1 Tsp Salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
Boil bow ties to package recipe. Cool. Do not rince with water, for your sald will be watery.Stir in vegetables.
Add summer savory, salt, and pepper.
Mix in salad dressing, mix it in slowly. Add to taste or all salad is coated.
Chill before Serving.
To travel keep on ice, it will be cool and refreshing on a hot summer day.
