Egg Nogg Pie

Ingredients

1-1/2 cup unflavored gelatin
1 tablespoon cold water
1 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 beaten egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup cream, whipped

Instructions

Soak gelatin in cold water. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add to scalded milk. Cook until thickened (about 15-20 minutes). Temper egg yolks and add back into milk mixture. Cook 3 more minutes. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla and dissolved gelatin. Stir well. Cool. Blend in whipped cream. Place in pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Chill.
