Turtle Cake

Ingredients

1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
14 ounces individually wrapped caramels
1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
3/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease 9 x 13-inch pan.

Mix cake mix according to package directions. Pour a little less than half of the batter into prepared pan and bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven.

Melt caramels, butter and milk in microwave on high (about 10 minutes), stirring a couple of times until smooth. Pour over cake. Sprinkle with pecan and chocolate chips. Top with remaining cake batter.

Bake 20 to 35 minutes.
