Tiramisu (Sophia Loren)

Ingredients

3 eggs
5 tablespoons sugar
6 ounces mascarpone cheese
1 package ladyfingers
1 cup orange liqueur
1 cup Espresso
4 ounces bittersweet chocolate, grated fine

Instructions

Separage eggs. Combine egg yolks and sugar in medium size bowl and beat well.

In separate bowl beat egg whites to stiff peaks.

Combine yolk mixture with mascarpone, then fold in egg whites to produce creamy mixture.

Arrange a tight layer of ladyfingers into service dish. Drizzle with half the liqueur and half espresso. Cover this layer with mascarpone mixture and half of the grated chocolate. Cover this layer with second layer of ladyfingers and drizzle with remaining liqueur and espresso.

Place dish in refrigerator for at least 12 hours. Top with whipped cream (if desired). Top with remaining chocolate before serving.
