Valbergs Chili Salsa
When we lived at Princes St we had a big old habanero plant growing over the fence from the neighbors back yard onto ours. This magnificent plant bore super hot chili fruit almost all year round. We found many ways to enjoy this beautiful food and this salsa is one of our favorite ways to serve it.
Ingredients
Habanero 6Capsicum 1/2
Tomatoes 800 gr
Tomato paste 140gr
Onion 1
Salt 1 tsp
Garlic 3 cloves
Cumin ground 1 tsp
Sugar 1/2 tsp
Vinegar 1/4 cup
Instructions
Clean the seeds from the chilis, unless you want the salsa super hot.In food processor place habaneros, jalapenos, capsicum and onions and process for just a few seconds.
Add both cans of tomatoes, salt, sugar, and cumin and process all ingredients until well blended but do not puree.
Place in covered container and chill. A couple of hours of chilling will help blend and enrich the flavor.
