Strawberry Fig Preserves
Ingredients
3 to 4 cups figs3 cups sugar
2 (3 oz.) pkg strawberry jello
Instructions
Wash figs and cut off stems. Place in heavy cooking pot and mash with potato masher. Add sugar and jello; bring to boil and cook for 10 minutes on medium to high heat; stir constantly to keep from sticking.Pour into warm sterilized half-pint jars, top with lids, and place in hot water bath for 10 minutes. Remove with thongs and cool; store in cool dry place.
