Peanut Butter Cake
Home-made from scratch peanut butter cake.
Ingredients
Cake ingredients:2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
1 cup water
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup milk or buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
Frosting ingredients:
1/2 cup butter (1 stick)
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup milk or buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 1/2 cups powder sugar
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.In a large mixing bowl whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar; set aside.
Combine butter, water, and peanut butter in a pot on top of stove and bring to boil; remove from stove and slowly stir in milk and vanilla. Pour into bowl with flour mixture and stir with a spoon to mix. Add eggs, stir until all ingredients are wet and mixed. Pour into a prepared cake pan to bake.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Frosting:
Combine butter, peanut butter, and milk, bring to boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla, stir until smooth. Add a little milk if too thick. Spread over cake that is still hot.
