Shredded BBQ Root Beer Sandwiches
Ingredients
1 3 lb chuck roast1 can A&W Root Beer
1 bottle BBQ sauce
Root Beer BBQ Sauce
3/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup A&W Root Beer
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
Instructions
Place a drizzle of olive oil in a pan. Heat the oil on high heat. Sear both sides of the chuck roast for 3-4 minutes (each side) on high heat.Place seared chuck roast in the crock pot and pour a can of A&W Root Beer over the roast. Cook on low for 7 hours.
Shred the roast. Serve on buns with BBQ sauce.
Root Beer BBQ Sauce
Whisk everything together in a bowl.
Notes
Optionally, refrigerate the barbecue sauce for a couple of hours to help thicken it before use.
