Cheesy Quickbread
Easy Cheesy Quick Bread that is great with any soup or main dish. This recipe makes one loaf.
Ingredients
2 1/2 c all-purpose flour1 Tb baking powder
1 teaspoon fine sea salt (I use Redmonds Real Salt)
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 ounces sharp cheddar cheese (cut into 1/2 inch pieces, about 2/3 c)
1 c parmesan cheese (shredded, divided use)
1 egg
1 c milk
1/2 c sour cream
3 Tb butter (melted)
Instructions
To begin, preheat your oven to 350°F..Grease and flour a loaf pan (8.5x4.5 inches) and set it aside for now.
In your mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and peppers. Stir them together.
Add in the cheddar cheese, breaking apart any pieces that are stuck together and coating it all with the flour mixture.
Stir in half of the parmesan cheese.
In another bowl, beat the egg.
Add in the milk, sour cream and melted butter. Whisk together.
Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and stir to combine. This will be a thick, sticky dough.
Scoop the dough into your prepared loaf pan, and smooth out the top.
Sprinkle the remaining parmesan on top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the loaf tests done with a toothpick.
Allow the cheesy quick bread to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before removing it to a rack to cool completely.
Enjoy!
