Beefy Potatoes Au Gratin
Ingredients6 -8 russet potatoes ( I used small red potatoes until it made the same amount).
6 cups of milk
1/4 container of velvetta cheese
6 Tsp. butter
6 Tsp. A/P Flour
salt n pepper to taste
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 lb. ground chuck
1 large diced onion
bacon bits or real bacon crumbled for garnish
InstructionsPreheat oven to 350
Spray non stick spray in roaster pan.
Slice potatoes and keep in cold water bath until ready for placement.
Melt butter in pot and then add flour. Whisk until incorporated. Gradually add milk and continue to whisk. Add velvetta cheese and salt and pepper to taste.
Brown beef and onions in another skillet. Drain off grease and pour into cheese sauce mixture.
Start your assembly.
Place 1/2 of potatoes in bottom of roaster pan, 1/2 of beefy cheese mixture over that. Repeat until all used up.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Cover with foil and bake 1 hour.
Remove foil and bake 1/2 hour uncovered.
MUST let stand for 20 mins to set.
We ate a salad appetizer while ours cooled.
We put bacon bits on top of ours and it was sooooo good.
