Homemade Enchilada Sauce
Ingredients
⅓ cup finely chopped green bell pepper⅔ cup water
1 tbsp. chili powder
½ tsp. dried oregano
¼ tsp. ground cumin
1-2 jalapenos, finely chopped, if desired
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz.) tomato sauce
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine all of the enchilada sauce ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally. Once the mixture comes to a boil, reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes or until slightly thickened.2.
