Granny's Biscuits
Ingredients
Instructions
Here is my biscuit recipe Preheat oven 425...2 cups flour, 2 tbsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 1/2 cups sour cream, 1 tbsp + 1 tsp vegetable oil, 4 tbsp soft butter, divided ( half before baking, and the other half after ) in a medium bowl whisk the first 4 ingredients until mixed very well and add sour cream in spoonfuls on top and add oil immediately stir to the mix until all is just moistened with a spoon then switch using your hands turning the dough to get all the last of all the dry stuff on the bottom of the bowl...remove the ball of dough and knead 8 times on a flat surface roll thick to only about a 8 " circle. just a few passes with your ( floured )rolling pin then cut 5-6 biscuits with your cutter pressing straight down and don't twist ( my granny always said never twist ) get 3-4 more out of the last of the dough ( bunch it back together and knead it just a bit, pat or roll and cut ) making 8-10 total throw away any last dough you have left.. I placed mine on a old pizza pan covered it foil and sprayed with butter crisco and then place little pats of butter or spread some of the softened butter but make sure you don't deflate the biscuits while doing so ..bake in hot preheated 425 oven for about 15-17 mins or until golden brown and remove from oven and serve with the remaining butter on top...Enjoy
