Caramel Sheet Cake
Ingredients
2 c flour2 c sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c butter
1/2 c vegetable oil
1 c water
1/2 c buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
dash of salt
2 eggs
Instructions
Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon and salt. In saucepan, bring butter, oil and water to boil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix. Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla. Beat well. Pour into a greased and floured 10x15" pan (jellyroll pan). Bake at 400 degrees for 15-17 minutes.Frosting:
1/2 c butter
1 c brown sugar
1/4 c buttermilk or milk w/1 tsp vinegar
2 1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
Brown butter. Add brown sugar and bring to a boil. Add buttermilk and return to a boil. Remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, and beat to desired consistency. Spread over warm cake. You may need another tablespoon of milk.
