French Toast Bake
Recipe from Iowa Farmer Today
Ingredients
2 tbsp corn syrup5 tbsp butter
1 c brown sugar
1/2 c chopped pecans
1 loaf French bread, cut on 1" slices
5 eggs
1 1/2 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 pt strawberries
Whipped cream
Instructions
Butter a 9 x 13" baking dish. Set aside.In a small heavy saucepan, combine the corn syrup, butter and brown sugar.
Cook until bubbly.
Pour syrup mixture into the buttered dish.
Sprinkle with pecans.
Layer bread slices.
In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs, milk and vanilla.
Pour over bread.
Cover and refrigerate.8 hrs or overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Remove from refrigerator.
Bake about 35 minutes.
Invert baking dish onto a platter. Serve with strawberries and whipped cream.
