Pickled Ham
This is often served in the Amana Colony restaurants. Another German recipe. One of my Dad's favorites.

Ingredients

2 cups cubed ham
2 cups water
1 cup vinegar
1 tbsp sugar
1 large onion, cut in rings or chop
1 tbsp pickling spice
1 tsp salt

Instructions

Place spices in bag. With spices, add rest of ingredients except ham to a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Add ham. Cover and simmer for 20 minutes. Discard spices. Place in glass container and chill over night. Gets better if chilled for several days.
