Caramel Frosting (my Mom's)
Ingredients
4 tbsp butter6 tbsp whipping cream
3/4 c brown sugar
1 3/4 c powdered sugar
Instructions
Melt butter, then add brown sugar. Melt again and add cream. Boil one minute hard, remove from heat. Add powdered sugar. (Optional to add maple flavoring. Can use white sugar and add other flavorings.) Beat well. If it seems hard when cool, add a few drops of cream or milk.Notes: Good on angel food or spice cake. My mom and dad liked it on Chocolate cake.
My mom cuts down on all ingredients as it made more than she liked for one 9x13" cake.
