"Cheaters" Homemade Pickles
Ingredients
1 qt Kosher dillpickles (the smaller the better)2 1/2 c sugar
3/4 c white vinegar
2 lg garlic cloves, separated
1/4 c water
1 tsp or less green food coloring
Instructions
Drain liquid off pickles and discard. Cut pickles into 1/2 inch slices. Put pickles and garlic into jar. Boil 2 c sugar, vinegar, water and green food coloring. Pour over pickles in jar and seal for 24 hours.Drain liquid and reboil Pour over pickles and seal again for 24 hours. Drain liquid and add 1/2 c sugar.
Reboil and pour over pickles. Seal and use after 24 hours. Then chill.
