Frosted Sour Cream Banana Bars
Ingredients
1/2 c butter, softened1 1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
1 c (8 ounces) sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
2 medium ripe bananas, mashed (1 c)
Frosting:
1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 c butter, softened
2 tsp vanilla
3 3/4 to 4 powdered sugar
Instructions
In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add the eggs, sour cream and vanilla. combine the flour, baking soda and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in bananas.Spread into a greased 15" x 10" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool.
For frosting, in a bowl, beat the cream cheese, butter and vanilla. Gradually beat in enough powdered sugar to achieve desired consistency. Frost bars. Store in the refrigerator. Yield 3-4 dozen.
