Pella Apple Bread
Ingredients
1 c sugar
1/2 c margarine
1/4 c sour milk or buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
2 c finely chopped apples
1/2 c chopped nuts
Topping:
4 tbsp margarine, softened
4 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
Instructions
Cream sugar and margarine. Combine sour milk and soda. Stir into creamed mixture. Add eggs, vanilla, flour and salt. Beat well. Stir in apples and nuts. Put in greased and floured 9x5x3" loaf pan. Mix topping ingredients. Drop by bits on batter and press lightly with a fork. Bake in a 350 degrees oven for 60 minutes. Freezes well.
