Heath Bar Candy (Christmas Favorite)
Ingredients
soda crackers
1 c butter
3/4 c brown sugar ( Pinterest recipe calls for 1 c brown sugar)
walnuts, chopped
1 pkg (12 oz) chocolate chips
Instructions
Line jelly roll pan (usually 11x15" with sides) with aluminum foil including the side of the pan, dull side up. Spray cooking spray over foil. Cover bottom with soda crackers. Do not crush. Boil butter and brown sugar 3-4 minutes. (Pinterest says after boils, turn down and simmer 5-6 minutes.). Pour over crackers and bake at 400 degrees for five minutes. ( Pinterest says bake 8-10 minutes at 350). Remove from oven and put chocolate chips on top. Do not put back in oven. The chips will melt. Spread chips until candy is covered. Sprinkle with walnuts on top, press gently into chocolate so you don't lose as many when you cut them. Cook and cut or break into pieces. Store in airtight container. Can be frozen.
