Quass Burgers for a Crowd
Ingredients
10 lb ground beefBrown and drain.
Add:
3/4 c vinegar
3/4 c water
3 c catsup (minimum)
1 1/4 c brown sugar
2 c onion, chopped
4-5 c celery, finely chopped
5 tsp dry mustard
salt and pepper
Instructions
May want to add more catsup according to taste.Do not overheat these because of the brown sugar. When overheated, brown sugar gets a burnt flavor.
These were served for decades at Keystone Community Schools, even when my mom attended. Leona Wilson was the cook for years and served the best school lunches ever!
