Sweet and Salt Candy (TOH teacher contest)
Ingredients
2 cups miniature pretzels, coarsely crushed1/2 c corn chips, coarsely crushed
1/2 c salted peanuts
1/2 c butter, cubed
1/2 c brown sugar
1 1/2 c semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Line a 9x13" baking pan with foil and grease the foil; set aside. In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, corn chips and peanuts.2. In a small saucepan, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar until melted. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Boil for 1 minute, stirring twice. Pour over the pretzel mixture; toss to coat. Transfer to prepared pan.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 minutes. Sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake 1-2 minutes longer or until chips are softened. Spread over top. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour. Break into pieces.
