Grandma Hennings' Home made salad dressing
Ingredients
1/2 c. Sugar (generous measure)1/4 c. Apple cider vinegar
4 eggs
Whipping cream
Instructions
Stir sugar, vinegar and eggs. Add whipping cream, approximately 1/3 to 1/2 cup.Cook on stove using medium heat. Stir constantly and watch. It will easily scorch on bottom of pan. As it heats, you will notice it getting thicker. After it reaches full boil, remove and place in storage container. Cool, the. Refrigerate. Will keep for several weeks. Sometimes will get a little watery. Just pour the water part off before you use. I mix about equal amounts homemade dressing with mayo or miracle whip to make the best potato salad ever. My mom always had a batch of homemade dressing in her frig. Also use it for devil eggs, homemade ham salad, tuna salad and Waldorf apple salad.
