Slow Cooker Pinto Beans
Ingredients
1 pound Pinto Beans, dried
5 cups water
1 pound pork sausage, sliced
1 ham hock
1 medium onion, chopped
12 ounces cola
1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon oregano
Instructions
Rinse beans and put in a slow cooker with water, sausage, ham hock and onion. Cook on low setting overnight. Add remaining ingredients and cook on low setting for 10 more hours or on high setting for 8 hours. This recipe can be doubled, but it makes for a very full slow cooker.
