Swiss Green Beans
Goes well with any meat dish.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons milk
4 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon onion powder
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
2 cups sour cream
5 cans green beans
16 ounces Swiss Cheese, shredded
4 cups Corn Flakes, crushed
1/4 cup butter, melted
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 F. Combine milk, flour, pepper, onion powder, salt and sugar in a large saucepan. Warm over medium heat to make a pasty white sauce. Gradually add the sour cream and stir until thick. Stir in the green beans. Place green beans into a greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheese and bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted. While green beans are baking, combine Corn Flakes with melted butter. Add the mixture to the top of the melted cheese and bake another 5 minutes or until browned and crispy. Cool for 10 minutes and serve. Makes 8 servings.
