Spaghetti Casserole
The pork sausage gives the meal a flavor not expected from spaghetti.
Ingredients
1 pound pork sausage
1/3 cup onion, chopped
1/3 cup celery, chopped
1/3 cup green pepper, chopped
6 ounces tomato paste
8 ounces tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
3/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1 cup water
8 ounces spaghetti
3 teaspoons Parmesan Cheese
Instructions
In a heavy skillet, break up the sausage and add onions, celery, and green pepper. Stir over medium heat until meat is brown and crumbly. Add tomato paste, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, sugar, and water to the meat mixture. Mix well, cover, and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently. Prepare spaghetti according to package directions. Preheat oven to 375 F, and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan. After spaghetti is cooked and drained, place it in the prepared dish, spreading it out evenly. Pour meat sauce over spaghetti and sprinkle the top with cheese. Bake for 20 minutes or until top is browning and bubbly. Makes 8 servings.
