Diana's Baked Beans
Ingredients
6 15 ounce cans of pork and beans
1 medium sweet onion, diced
1 large green pepper, diced
1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup light corn syurup
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 F. Drain beans into a large sauce pan by putting a strainer on top of the pot and letting the juices flow into it. Gently stir the beans in the strainer, trying not to break them. Add the onion, pepper, bacon, sugar, barbecue sauce, ketchup and corn syrup to the juices in the sauce pan. Heat the sauce to simmering, until it begins to thicken. Put the beans in a greased large casserole dish, and then add the sauce to the beans. Cook for 30 to 40 minutes. Makes 24 servings.
