Down South Barbecue Sandwiches
Ingredients
2 onions, sliced, divided
4 pound pork roast or beef roast
5 whole cloves
2 cups water
16 ounces barbecue sauce
Instructions
Slice one onion and put half in bottom of slow cooker. Add meat, cloves and water, placing remaining half of onion on top of roast. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 12 hours. Remove bone and fat from meat. Cut meat in chunks and put back in slow cooker. Cover with remaining onion and 16 ounces barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours, or on low for 4 to 6 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve on large hamburger buns. Makes 8 servings.
