Tailgate Breakfast Sliders
The original recipe called for 4 cups of cheese, but that is too much for our taste.
Ingredients
1 package of slider buns
8 eggs
1/4 cup milk
2 tablespoons sliced chives
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
10 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded and divided
3 tablespoons butter, divided
1 teaspoon maple syrup
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 F. Slice slider buns in half lengthwise, and place bottoms in a 9x13 inch pan. On the bottom layer of the buns, sprinkle 1 cup of cheddar cheese. In a large bowl, beat eggs with milk and chives. Season with salt and pepper. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon butter, and cook eggs to desired consistency. Top the bottom layer of sliders with eggs and bacon. Sprinkle remaining cheddar cheese on top. Place the top half of the sliders on top of the cheese. In a small bowl, mix the butter with maple syrup. Brush mixture on top of sliders. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and slider tops are golden brown. Makes 12 servings.
