Down Home Pulled Pork Barbecue
Ingredients
4 tablespoons Kosher salt4 tablespoons black pepper
4 tablespoons paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground cumin
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 cup Liquid Smoke
8 pound pork butt roast
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup cider vinegar
6 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 teaspoons Tabasco sauce
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon pepper
Instructions
Combine spices and mix thoroughly. Rub spices on pork roast generously. Place pork into slow cooker and pour Liquid Smoke around roast. Cook on low for 10-12 hours.Prepare sauce by combining vinegars, garlic cloves, sugar, red pepper flakes, Tabasco, salt and pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring the sauce to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer to desired consistency.
When pork is tender, remove bone and shred meat into small pieces. Stir in sauce. Serve on hamburger buns, topped with sliced onions. Makes 16 servings.
