Mom's Baked Mac 'N Cheese
I always have trouble with the macaroni sticking to one another. Cover with foil or the cheese will brown too quickly.
Ingredients
16 oz Elbow Macaroni Noodles
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups Monterey Jack Cheese, shredded
1 1/2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded
6 strips of bacon, cooked and crumbled
Instructions
Cook and prepare macaroni noodles according to package directions. Drain and rinse, setting to the side. Preheat oven to 350 F and spray a 9x13 inch baking dish with oil. In a small bowl, whisk eggs, then add milk and butter. In a separate bowl, combine cheeses and bacon. Add 1/2 of the noodles into the prepared pan, and season with salt and pepper. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles. Place remaining noodles in pan, season with salt and pepper then spread remaining cheese on top. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the noodles, and bake for 40 minutes or until light brown and bubbly. May have to cover with foil to keep the cheese from browning too quickly. Makes 12 servings.
