Hot Dog and Bacon Roll Ups
These fell apart and were not very good. Cook them in a large crock pot and see if they do any better. The weenies blew apart and just did not look very tasty. Use high quality beef hot dogs next time and see if that makes a difference.
2 pound hot dogs
20 slices bacon
2 cups light brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon ground mustard
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons chili powder
Cut hot dogs in half, and cut slices of bacon in half. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder and chili powder. Wrap each piece of hot dog in a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Arrange a layer of hot dogs in crockpot and then sprinkle 1/3 of the brown sugar mixture over layer. Repeat making two more layers, ending with the brown sugar mixture. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours, stirring gently a few times. Turn to low to serve.
