Jennifer's Favorite Lasagna
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1/2 cup onion, diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
8 oz tomato sauce
28 oz spaghetti sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 1/2 teaspoon Italian Seasonings, divided
15 oz ricotta cheese
2 large eggs, beaten
1/4 cup milk
16 oz Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese
9 Lasagna Noodles
Instructions
Prepare lasagna noodles as directed on package. Brown ground beef with onion and garlic in medium saucepan, then drain. Add tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, garlic powder and 1 teaspoon Italian seasonings. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, covered. Preheat oven to 375 F. In a separate bowl, combine ricotta cheese, eggs, milk and 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasonings and mix well. Layer a 9 x 13 pan with a small amount of meat sauce, just enough to cover the bottom. Layer 3 noodles across the sauce, and cover noodles with 1/3 of the meat sauce. Cover sauce with 1/3 of the shredded cheese and then 1/2 of the ricotta mixture. Repeat and then cover with the last 3 noodles Spread meat sauce over noodles and then cover sauce with remaining cheese. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top, cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Take foil off and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
